Donor Tissue Bank Committee

Donor Tissue Bank Committee is a committee of the Council of the Victorian Institute of Forensic Medicine. The Committee governs the DTBV through its role in strategy development and by ensuring the Donor Tissue Bank of Victoria complies with its legislative and regulatory obligations related to quality, risk and financial governance. The Committee also ensures that the DTBV remains true to its mission and vision.

Purpose and objective

The VIFM Council has established the Donor Tissue Bank Committee to assist the Council in fulfilling its responsibilities in relation to the VIFM Act, Human Tissue Act and Therapeutic Goods Act including the requirements of Good Manufacturing Practice, The Biologicals Framework and associated Therapeutic Goods Orders, and ethical guidelines of the National Health and Medical Research Council.
