Deceased Australian donor.

Source Tissue

Cancellous bone from human long bone epiphyses.

Treatment

Antibiotic - gentamicin.

Process Method

Cartilage and soft tissue has been removed.

The bone is cleaned with dilute hydrogen peroxide and water.

Bone is then cut and milled into 2 particle sizes (1-4mm and 4-9mm).

The bone is then lyophilised.

The bone is cleaned with dilute hydrogen peroxide and saline.

QC Testing

Microbiological culture - sampled throughout retrieval and processing including just prior to final packaging.

Radiological review of all source bone.

Packaging

Glass Bottle (under vacuum) containing at least the volume (wet) listed.

Irradiation

Final product irradiated (indicated by red sticker) to a minimum dose of 25kGy within its final packaging.

CLINICAL APPLICATIONS

Restoration/repair of musculoskeletal tissue.

STORAGE

Ambient (room) temperature until expiry.

TRANSPORT

Transported at ambient temperature.

ORDERING INSTRUCTIONS

Where possible place order 2 business days prior to delivery date specifying size of allograft and particle size required.

This allograft is available on consignment at selected hospitals. Please contact DTBV to see if your hospital has consignment stock or if you wish to set up a consignment agreement.
